The gallery prototype is up and running and Eriks hat is once again online. Soon to be added will be a facility for comments and possibly tagging. There will also be some discreet improvements to the CSS and possibly some jquery based glitz (I'm tempted to implement lightbox but may write my own smaller app to save bandwidth).
And so the weekend is over, the gallery system will soon be underway. Watch this space...
So the interface has evolved a tad and I've added a bit of glitz. Work is now underway on the image gallery system which I'll be demoing with the resurrection of Eriks old hat gallery. I'm currently in the process of writing an image import system which I'll test out on the not inconsiderable collection that Erik has bestowed upon me.
Well I've done the sidebar (configured via .ini file and a small parser I threw together rather than use any existing CPAN modules) and I'm fairly happy with the layout. Now I need to get my projects up and running and throw together a link list that doesn't suck...
Here is the current todo list for the site:
- Write a sensible way to manage the sidebar, probably through a YAML/ini file
- Start loading up projects (jsdoku, tafl variants etc)
- Get a VPS and make the shit live
So here it is, the first news post ever on the new site. Admittedly it's currently only running in a test VM on my laptop and this post in itself is a test of the news spooling system but nevertheless :D
